Touring Herculaneum 🌿

  • Share this:

We recently watched Tenet at the theaters and in it they referenced Pompeii & Herculaneum, reminding me — last summer, we visited Herculaneum. It’s an ancient town that was covered by 25 meters of ash in the eruptions of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD, and discovered under the modern day city of Ercolano, Campania, Italy.

It was a phenomenal experience. I couldn’t recommend it enough as an alternative to Pompeii, especially when visiting with little kids bc it’s smaller and easily accessible, less crowded and fantastically intact — more videos and photos on our Instagram at @batikandbubbles 🥰 #herculaneum #italianholiday #precovid19 #latergram
